First Real Set Experience

This was the best experience yet. And the first thing I realized after it all was that even though we learned a lot in the IM program nothing prepared me for my first time on set! First being on set of a big production with some kind of big name actors. The crew was awesome and very aware that Gardner and I were students and were willing to teach us and tell us how to do certain things. I was PAing and doing some 2nd AC work. I got to the 2nd AC stuff because I told them I wanted to get into camera and DPing. It was cool to see how they got the look of shots and it look amazing! They had these big 5k LED lights set up outside and defused shinning through the windows and a smoke machine inside to help the light travel in side the house. It was just SUPER COOL!

Week Whatever

At this point I've reached my hours or I'm pretty close to it. It's taken this long but I've finally gotten some actual video work that is more interesting and more geared towards what I want to do.

Week Whatever Update

Well there is a bit of an update. My boss has recently shown I terestin giving me work that actually relates to creating video. From what I’m understanding it’s more editi gbut I suggested a few ideas for projects I could film and edit.
There still isn't really much to report on. Although not working for almost two weeks I'm back to doing exactly what I was doing before. All graphic design no video related work. Really not much to say.

Week 5

About another week has passed and I've done almost nothing. Instead of working on loads of different graphics I am working on the same Demo Reel. I honestly just can't wait for this specific internship to be over. I can't say much without it sounding like I am complaining. Despite the negatives of this internship one of the positives that have come out of it is that I have IMDb credits. As little as that may be.
*Holds Camera To Face* Day 17 there looks like I have no hope of getting much out of this internship anytime soon. I'm not sure how I feel about this internship at this point. I guess it's a little bit of a relief that I don't have to work 120 hours anymore. This definitely doesn't feel right and I'm not getting as much video related stuff and it's kind of disappointing. The guy I'm working under doesn't know how to communicate what he wants through emails so I have to make dozens of adjustments to things he is having me work on and he doesn't give me deadlines which then leads to us not finishing them on time. So far this internship was a bad idea.

Week 3 Finally getting to do video stuff

So I'm like 3 weeks in and I've finally started doing some video stuff. Recently I've started editing a demo reel for an actress. I also went on a shoot with them to film stuff for actors demo reels which was very interesting. At first I was told I was going to be doing lighting and basically gaffing the shoot, but that turned out to not be anywhere close to the truth haha. I ended up being  PA which really I didn't mind but what bothered me was that I ended up having to hold a dog for like 3 hours because it wouldn't stop barking when it was put in a bedroom and we couldn't have it walking around. So I basically sat down on a couch and held this Chihuahua for 3 hours. I guess I have an interesting PA story so that's a way of looking at it. The rest of the shoot when I wasn't dog sitting I was just trying to find stuff to do which basically meant me reading the room and when something needed to be done I jumped on it because I was asked or before s...
